Shotley - Old Felixstowe Ferry - Shotley

Bike: Condor
Distance: 45.09 miles
Time: 2 hours 29 minutes 44 seconds
Average speed: 18mph
Maximum speed: 28mph
Odometer (at end): 4759.9 miles

Awesome ride, on a nice afternoon (if a bit chilly to be out in short sleeves and shorts...) Haven't cycled to Felixstowe in a while, and the west-to-east portions of the ride were pretty quick with a slight breeze to my back. Got to the cafe at the Ferry, looked at the ominous grey/yellow sky that I was going to be cycling towards, and had a mug of tea before hot footing it back home. The bike really does like my old Mavic Ksyrium elites with proper race tyres and will miss them when I put the old wheels and scabby winter tyres back on tomorrow.

On the way back, through Trimley, a youth on a moped decided to see how close he could overtake me while hooting his horn... then around 15 other youths overtook me on mopeds, with L plates. Bless! The L's Angels. Anyway, I got into their tow, and they looked slightly ashamed that a bicycle was keeping up with them for a couple of minutes. Good training, courtesy of the ASBO youth of Felixstowe.

Managed to avoid the ominous cloud, and only got rained on for about 3 minutes, so it was nice to avoid a third drenching in the past week.
