Average miles per month 'Phase 1' (Pre-Bleeding): 526.62 for 25 months

At the start of July I was hospitalised for 2 weeks with internal bleeding, and I had 2 months of inactivity. I started tentatively commute-cycling again in September 2005, before doing some longer rides that winter. I did a few long rides, including the Dunwich Dynamo in 2006, but only started training again properly (and with a purpose) in October 2006.

During this recovery phase I stopped keeping detailed cycling records - up until the end of June 2005 I had recorded virtually every bike ride I went on, no matter how small. Anyway, doing some sums, I worked out that this is what I did while waiting for my body to restore itself:

JUL 2005-DEC 2006: 4667.33 miles total
Average per month: 259.296 for 18 months
Which is still more than most people will cycle in a lifetime!

Anyway, since the start of 2007 I've kept less-detailed records than before, but records nonetheless. My odometer is switched on for every journey I make. The figures show I'm cycling more than ever before, with an eerie consistency.

With blips and all, I have averaged 460 miles per month since June 2003 (23000 miles in 50 months).

Without including the 'recovery period' I have averaged 572.89 miles per month over 32 months.
